The Yorkshire Peat Partnership are currently leading peat restoration work across many of the most remote and beautiful areas of Yorkshire. Blocking of modern grips, regrading of severe areas of hagging and re-seeding erosion patches all contribute to arresting the erosion of blanket peat across the uplands, one of the best natural carbon traps we have.  Across Barden Fell and Hazlewood Moor in the southern Yorkshire Dales National Park, Solstice undertook a large-scale walkover survey to identify and record all historic environment remains in the area. Among the remains of medieval and post-medieval quarrying and trackways, the earthworks of several Neolithic to Bronze Age cairns and a previously unidentified late prehistoric settlement were identified and mapped.
