HISTORIC BUILDING APPRAISAL
A Historic Building Appraisal is a rapid assessment of what is significant about a historic building. It also assesses the potential impact of a proposed development or alteration. As with Heritage Statements, Building Appraisals are normal reasonably small and rapid pieces of work that are based upon existing information and architect’s drawings to satisfy the requirements of the National Planning Policy Framework. Despite their brief nature, Building Appraisals can form a cornerstone for further work, and it is always worth commissioning a high-quality assessment at the earliest possible stage.
